Always Remember Double Point Card

I spent my lunch hour up in my craft studio, otherwise known as The Hen House, and I wanted to try another Fun Fold Card. I had seen the Double Point Card on Pinterest and wanted to give it a go. Lynn Dunn (www.stamptasticdesigns.com) has a fantastic tutorial. Thank you, Lynn!

Here is the color palette used for this card

For this card, I started with a Basic Black base and added a layer of Whisper White. My Double Points are from the Plaid Tidings 6×6 DSP, which I love, love, love!

I die cut two of the labels, one in black, one in white, with the Stitched So Sweetly dies and stamped my sentiment on the white layer using Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black.

For the embellishment, I used the Poppy Moments Dies and cut the large flower base from Poppy Parade, and the outline from Basic Black. I cut the leaf base from Pear Pizzaz and the outline from Mossy Meadow.

For the inside panel, I stamped the sentiment and the flower image in Tuxedo Black and watercolored the flower in Poppy Parade using my ink pad and Water Painters. I keep wanting to type Aqua Painters… that is going to take some getting used to.

There is nothing perfect about this card. My points don’t line up perfectly, Inhad to do some manual trimming to clean up lines, and my image on the inside of the card is a little too dark, but all in all, I am really happy with it! I wanted to see how difficult this style of card was to make, and I completed it, start to finish, in less than an hour, with no pre-planning,

Plaid Tidings Thank You Card

Today, I got the opportunity to create with some of the new goodies from the August – December Mini Catalog. I made a simple A2 Thank You card for a customer and I love it!

Here is the color palette used for this card

I used Cherry Cobbler Cardstock and the coordinating Plaid Tidings DSP. I used retired white grosgrain ribbon to separate them. I cut the tag for my sentiment with the Celebration Labels Dies and the sentiment is from Peaceful Moments.

On the inside of the card and on the envelope, I stamped a flourish and sentiment from the new Celebration Tidings stamps.

Another Z-Fold Card, this time using Painted Poppies

I loved making the Z-Fold Card for the challenge at The Dimensionals yesterday so much that I had to try another, this time using the Painted Poppies Bundle. Again, I am over the moon with the results and I can’t believe that I have never done this before!

Here is the color palette used

All of the materials (except the embossing folder) used can be found on my website.

Stamps: Painted Poppies, Peaceful Moments

Dies: Poppy Moments, Hippo & Friends

Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Poppy Parade, Gorgeous Grape, Granny Apple Green

Ink: Memento -Tuxedo Black, Poppy Parade, Gorgeous Grape

Misc.: Embossing Folder (Non SU), Daubers, Adhesives

I was not fortunate enough to get the DSP that came in the suite before it retired, so I made my own using the stamps in the bundle and I am happy with how it turned out, especially because I have white space to write a message.

Once again, I used a dauber on the die cut flower pieces with the matching ink in order to add a little depth.
